For a few renters of apartments in Rio de Janeiro mice are often the other white meat

By Simon Kennedy

First off, I must divulge, the spot that I was dwelling can't genuinely be specified as an apartment. I'm one of those kinds of people who needs to go so far off the beaten path that I can't find it again. Hotels and Apartments? Not genuinely my bag. So as expected, when an individual like me goes to travel to Rio de Janeiro I'm gonna face some exceptional issues. Especially if you go to look at the kind of rentals I considered. If you take unconventional actions, you are gonna have some unconventional situations, as I found out.

I'd actually discovered some flats located in one of the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. This particular favela was located in Copacabana, however it was also not far from Ipanema. While most people will would be likely to look for hotels or apartments, I actually stumbled across this unique bit of real estate to be embedded in the culture. Funk parties, loud music, samba, cheap fireworks at all times of the day and night. If this is actually the holiday you seek, then a favela is for you. Otherwise, chances are you'll consider a different plan for your vacation.

As I relocated into my new accommodations, it wasn't a long time before I noticed I had an unanticipated guest. Or maybe you would refer to him as an invader. Though it could be argued as to who was the actual invader. I presume to this rodent, I had been in truth encroaching on his territory. Possibly he was there long before I appeared. Also, this isn't really something that occurred to me while I'd been in search of flats and rentals in the local slums of Rio de Janeiro. But what else could you do?

One may well inquire, what's it like living with a rat? Well, most of us have had that roomie who is "that guy." You know the sort. The ones who make noise when you're trying to sleep. They consume your food and don't clean up their messes. Though I need to acknowledge, compared to other roommates in other apartments I've stayed in, this rodent was very well mannered. But on the other hand, the bar may be set low, very low.

Maybe next time I will consent to the approach of staying in hotels. However for the money, there's no way I would have gotten anywhere as close to Copacabana or Ipanema beach had I not migrated into some accommodations that might accept my furry four legged pal with a tail.
