Tips for enjoying the sun safely

By Dennis Whitestaff

Most people can't wait for the moment each year when they finish work and can pack their bags and head off on holiday for a relaxing week or two. Almost everyone likes a change from being at home and so they choose somewhere nice and hot instead of spending a couple of weeks with unpredictable weather back home which usually disappoints. For people who aren't used to exposure to high temperatures though there are dangers involved and so it is vitally important to stay safe.

Although people know that wearing sun cream is important when exposed to high temperatures at lot still don't do it upon arriving on holiday. A lot of people fail to apply sun cream because instead they want a tan as fast as possible or want to go and explore. Sun cream doesn't stop people from getting an all over golden tan though, what it does stop is people getting terribly burnt and also stops them from getting skin cancer.

It really is difficult to express the importance of wearing sun cream and how people should stay aware of whether they have enough on at all times. After going for a swim sun cream should be reapplied as even waterproof sun cream will come off a certain amount. Even wearing sun cream isn't always enough though as constant exposure to the sun in hot countries can have many other effects.

People often become dehydrated after being in the sun for a long time and it can leave them with serious headaches, migraines and even sickness. People who don't stay hydrated have a good chance of getting sun stroke which in many cases leaves people unable to get out of bed for days.

Enjoying the sun when on holiday is important but what is more important is protecting your health. Sun tans will come and go but too much sun without the right protection can leave lasting and irreparable damage. Stay protected by sun cream and also hydrated when on holiday and then you can concentrate on fully enjoying the weather and what your holiday has to offer.
