More of the Best Outlet Malls in Orlando

By Robert Nickel

In the world of retail and inventory turnover, corporate buyers are always watching buying trends. If certain items sell very well in one area of the nation, then a good inventory control system will facilitate all stock of those items be transferred to stores in that area. On the other hand, if the corporate buyers purchase something that just does not sell anywhere, it ends up at the outlet store. Other sources of outlet store stock are overbuys, factory seconds and slightly damaged things.

Now, that is not to say that everything at outlet stores is garbage. On the contrary, most of the time everything is perfectly desirable and in good repair. Manufacturers have certain standards they are meant to follow, including colour, seam size and location, sizing and so on. If those standards are not met during the manufacturing process, they become factory seconds, meaning not of first quality. If a fabric dye is not right or the wrong buttons are sewn on, then an entire line will become factory seconds and be shipped off to the outlet stores.

In part one we took a look at the smallest of the three outlet malls in Orlando, Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores. Now we will compare the two Orlando Premium Outlets malls. The one on International Drive has 88 stores, while the one on Vineland has 142 stores. Despite the 54 store difference between the two, there doesn't seem to be a great deal of variety between the malls. That could be a good thing though. If both outlet malls share many of the same stores, then perhaps they have different selections. It is worth checking if your favourite brand is involved.

There are a few notable stores present in the Orlando Premium Outlet malls. For example the elusive Ed Hardy Outlet store is in the one on International Drive. Ed Hardy has only one other outlet in Florida, in Tampa. As is Betsey Johnson, Escada, The North Face, Kate Spade and Ugg Australia. Incidentally, the Ugg Australia outlet in the International Drive mall is the only location in Florida. The other big difference between both Orlando Premium Outlet malls is the International Drive location has a Last Call Neiman Marcus department store. The utter square footage of the store is enough to set any bargain hunter into rapture. Other than these few differences, both outlet malls seem to have the usual line up of chain stores.

No one can really tell a shopper which of the Orlando outlet malls is better than another. It all depends upon your sense of style, taste, willingness to travel and budget. Every passionate shopper will appreciate the offerings in an outlet mall, but only the really discerning shopper will value the wonder of the designer outlet malls in Orlando!
